Similar concentrations of salt in the leaf tissue had a greater effect in bringing about a disorganization of cellular structure and of decreasing net photosynthesis in Amber than in IR2153.26.3.5.2. It is argued that these data support the view that rice varieties differ with respect to a cellular component of salt resistance.
