chapter
posted on 2023-06-08, 04:57 authored by Samar Ahmed, Allam AhmedIn 2000 (Abuja Declaration), 53 African heads of state including Sudan pledged to halve malaria mortality by 2010. But according to a recent study by the Lancet, everything has not gone to plan and Roll Back Malaria RBM has in fact done very little to halt the march of malaria in most African countries including Sudan. This paper aims to provide a clearer understanding of the constraints and challenges facing Sudan in compacting malaria. It will critically assess the performance and efforts of the Sudanese Government in compacting malaria in comparison with the internationally agreed targets to RBM and finally provide a conclusion.
