A modified family-B archaeal DNA polymerase with reverse transcriptase activity

A hybrid capable of copying stretches of RNA template ~100 bases long is the first example of a thermostable B family polymerase/reverse transcriptase. The high-fidelity archaeal polymerase contains a fingers domain derived from the more error prone polymerase ?. For maximum RT activity, fusion with the processivity factor Sso7d is required and the proof-reading exonuclease must be disabled.
