Notes
Available at: "http://www.dfid.gov.uk/pubs/files/nongov-2nd-schooling-africa.pdf " This peer reviewed book arises from a research grant competitively tendered from DFID. It is based on extensive fieldwork in two countries and cross national reviews. The book develops original analyses and explores the status, character and potential of non government schooling to contribute to increased access and equity in service provision. It uses surveys, interviewing, observation, and analysis of secondary data from EMIS and Examination Boards. This work has been recognised by Lewin's appearances on Newsnight and on BBC World programmes, an invitation to talk at the Commonwealth Ministers 15th Meeting in 2004, at the World Congress of Comparative Education, 2003, and at the UK African Studies Association.Full text available
