Abstract

An essay about the history of the Birmingham Museum of Science and Industry and Elkington Mason & Co electroplating works on Newhall Street in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter Conservation Area. The essay describes the artist's experience working on the major public art commission that formed part of the 63m (projected) redevelopment of the site into Newhall Square.
