This installation opened on 11th April 2012 at the Intersection for the Arts gallery in San Francisco California. It formed part of the Broadside Attractions / Vanquished Terrains exhibit which was both a homage to the traditional broadside and a re-interpretation of it. I collaborated with sculptor Karrie Hovey and poet Elise Ficarra to create sound for their project, which focused on the plight of an endangered species; the Marin White Deer. The piece combined several poems and three deer sculptures, draped around the gallery stairwell. The deer had strangely elongated legs which twist and turn, becoming like a root system. In the foot of each deer is a small speaker emitting sound. The sounds were intimate, the listener stood close to the deer to hear them.
