The project aims to evaluate the training and implementation of teacher appraisal in a London Borough. The schools in the Borough were divided into 2 cohorts and the evaluation covers both cohorts. Headteacher appraisal was also evaluated. The methods used were as follows: Questionnaires to all participants and then interviews in the sample schools. In Cohort 2 sample schools volunteers also kept diaries of the process. In Cohort 1 the interviewed sample was 4 out of a total 20 primary schools, 1 special school and 2 out of a total of 4 secondary schools. The same sample was in Cohort 2. The evaluation is now completed and a report is published.
