presentation
posted on 2023-06-08, 17:00 authored by Dagmara WeckowskaThe study aims to advance our limited understanding of the relationship between situated learning and evolving organisational practices. It explores the interplay between situated learning and strategic practices of management in bringing about four different types of change to organisational practice. The analysis of changes in commercialisation practices of six university Knowledge Transfer Offices in the United Kingdom revealed strategic practices of management that trigger, enable and direct situated learning in case of different incremental and radical changes in practice. The identified mechanisms underpinning each type of change illustrate the effects of formal management on situated learning and the effect of informal dynamics within COPs on formal management of work activities.
