This paper examines the concept of convergence and offers considerations on how convergence may affect the assumptions about the nature of biological weapons; how understanding the science and technology aspect of convergence is not sufficient; and on the importance of tending to treaties. Three ways forward are offered for consideration by States Parties in their preparations for the 8th BWC Review Conference.
