Depression of intake of nutrient by association of its odor with effects of insulin
journal contribution
posted on 2023-06-08, 22:17 authored by David Lovett, Pauline Goodchild, David A BoothRepeated access to an odorized glucose solution followed by injection of insulin eventually depresses the intake of glucose given that odor. Brief food intake tests after injection give no evidence of the decrease in satiety which has been postulated to explain the phenomenon. Development of a toxiphobic reaction is proffered as one alternative explanation.
