Abstract
This study seeks to enrich our understanding of software project risk management by revisiting some basic assumptions underlying the research in this domain. To this end, we apply a problematization methodology to 55 extant studies and identify six basic underlying assumptions. Then we reconsider each assumption using a particular theory that helps us think outside the box of that assumption.
