Elements from three areas of the author's art practice, which relate to engagement with the current technological landscape and everyday functional systems, are discussed. Attention is given to the relationship with art history and theories and the significance of appropriation. Kenneth Goldsmith’s points about the copyright and the digital network are very relevant. This work formed the core of practice-led PhD research. The paper describes mischievous interactions with functional processes and the ways in which these activities are reflected in the resulting artefacts and 'art-photography'.
